Aperture - Dealing with trees against the sky
11 months ago

Hi,

I was wondering if I was missing something in using Aperture. Specifically in how to deal with trees against a sky when you're trying to apply an adjustment to one or the other.

For example, darkening a sky without affecting the trees in the foreground. I've probably got a better example but here's one for now. Forgive the lack of photography talent please. I was playing about with the following photo using the polarize adjustment brush to darken the sky. However with the sky showing through all the twigs and branches I cannot avoid applying the brush to the trees.

I'm an idiot to be honest and I know there is so much I have yet to learn with Aperture never mind photography. So I wondered if anyone here had some tips.

Regards,

Stuart
