Question: How good is the AF speed of D5200/D5300
Jan 15, 2014

I own a Nikon D5100 + Sigma 17-50, and Tamron 70-300.  I like the combination, like the light weight and portable of the D5100. And is basically satisfied with IQ and high ISO.

What I do not satisfied is the AF speed. I hardly able to catch kids indoor/outdoor, or birds/squirrels in my backyards.

But I don't want to update to D7000, since I feel it is too bulky in my hand, is not as portable,  and would be painful for travel.

The D5200/D5300 sounds very promising for me since it uses same AF module as the D7000. But I also knew that these cameras are not in the same league.

So the question is , how is the AF speed and tracking speed of the D5200/5300, compared with D7000/7100?
