Yes, it does.

For your Final Cut work, you might consider a Thunderbold drive from Lacie. They are really fast.

It depends on what type of drive it is. Drives are not Thunderbolt, that's just the means of data transport. Lacie sells drives that can be connected through Thunderbolt that have either traditional spinning drives or solid state drives. The later is dramatically faster.

Do all your storage on a Thunderbolt external drive and keep the internal drive for software only. If you do that, you will be very happy with the Mac Mini!

If you have a Fusion Drive in the mini there would be no sense in using it "for software only."
