Top LCD screen really useful?

I am curious to hear how many photographers still refer to the top mounted LCD screen instead of the data shown on the rear panel.  Ever since my KM 5d (which I think introduced the idea), I have much preferred the larger and easier to read rear screen format.  From an ergonomic point of view, the rear screen is adjacent to the eyepiece so you just have to move the camera away from your face to see all the information. Also, that is where it variations to the settings are easier to control.
