D7000 1/8000 sec shutter speed, what am I doing wrong?
Jan 14, 2014

I recently bought a D7000 and have spent some trying to learn how to use it properly. So far I'm impressed with how much of a step up it actually is compared to the D5100 I used to have. It seems to be far less forgiving, which I quite like as I want to learn as much as possible.

However, one thing I can't wrap my head around is how you can change the shutter speed to 1/8000th of a second. The maximum shutter speed it allows is 1/4000 in manual mode. I've read the quite extensive users manual, but I may have missed something.

Any clues?
