Simple, Eggplant Film Camera. A hollowed out eggplant turned into a pinhole camera. Automatically sepia tones them.

There's a remote possibility, since you list a Sony camera, it might mean Electronic First Curtain shutter. Rather than have mechanical shutter open for the exposure, the camera simulates it electronically. A physical shutter closes to end the exposure. Less noise, less shake at the beginning of the exposure, less wear on the shutter mechanism, and less lag between finger press and beginning of exposure.
