SH-50 Flight to Nelson
Last Sunday I came back from the 2014 New Zealand Morris Dancing Tour in Nelson, with lots of useable stills and videos. Six days earlier the flight started in glorious sunshine, but finished in the rain -
Since I arrived early at the Auckland Domestic Airport, I wandered across to the International Airport, and found this Hobbit advert sitting on the tarmac -
Here is my plane to Nelson -
This is where South Auckland gives way to the country side -
I believe this is the Raglan area -
The cloud cover is just starting here. By the time we arrived in Nelson it was raining -
I am quite pleased with the video -
I left the aircraft noise as is for the flight video enthusiasts, except for when I am talking on the flight I put in a 100 Hertz notch filter. Also, the contrast is increased in the flight and arriving in Nelson.
I filled three 16 GB SDHC cards, and I started a fourth card for the flight home. I had with me the internal charger as well as an external one. I used two charged batteries each day for typically two hours or more on video plus stills, and they both needed recharging (at the same time) for about two hours and a half. Returning to the accommodation at 5 pm each day, the charging therefore was finished by the time I went to bed.
The SH-50 worked that day and for the five days to come as I expected, more reliably than a piece of charcoal on paper (since I got no smearing, as I used to when I was drawing with charcoal).
