in pure descriptive sense still photos simply cannot compete with video.

a photography series of images from some exotic location cannot even remotely compete with video footage of the same place including audio and commentary.

so its a complete waste of time to go to tibet (an example) and take still photos. instead shoot video, talk to people and put it together as a video clip and share it... no matter how good your still photos of tibet looks its not going to even come close to video footage when it comes to interest from people of all interest types.

video is universal and more honest and more engaging - and entertaining as well as informative. still photos are mute and in most cases awfully pretentious in trying to be "artistic".

so how on earth still photography can find a place in this age of video?
