Tip: Install Mavericks on pre-2008 Mac Pros!

Hi all,

I'm so glad a friend pointed me to this thread on how to install Mavericks on my 2007 Mac Pro. It worked flawlessly. My MP has been feeling so left out since Mountain Lion came out.  I knew my Mac could perfectly well run Mavericks.  An SSD system drive, 16GB of RAM, and an ATI Readon 5770 video card helps a lot, as well.

The trick is a custom boot.efi that pretends to be a 64-bit EFI. I imagine each time a new release of Mavericks comes out, I will need to use the thumb drive installer method instead of using Software Update.

Enjoy Life!
