Indifferent skin tone

Hi all,

I've been using D7100 for around 6 months now and its a joy to use.

However there are times (many times) when the skin color isn't same that I want.

Its somewhat smudgy or don't know how to explain, but it is a lil off from natural skin tone that I see while capturing. There is a yellow tone overall in the skin, (don't know if I'm saying this because everybody says that nikon skin tones are more yellow, but i can see difference).

I've tried many different settings from auto WB (results not warm enough) to kelvin WB and to changing hue and saturation in camera, but cam out disappointed all time.

Below is one such, kindly help me out in what can be the reason for it.

Also, a query regarding kelvin wb, do we need to match kelvin value with ambience light, like if its bright sunny shall I pump up the kelvin value to 5250/5500 or scroll it down to 4750/4500 something. I'm a bit confused in it
