I finally received my new iMac and my jaw dropped when I ran the first DiskSpeed Test.

My late model 2009 iMac (maxed out @ 16GB RAM) was struggling with my very large, multi-layered D800 files. Once PS tools I frequently use (such as liquify) were thrown into the mix, things became too slow for my own liking. I put a lot of thought into a MacPro vs iMac, but in the end chose an iMac because once things were all added up (including additional monitor), the iMac was better suited to me financially.

I knew this iMac would be faster than my old one, given the newer processor, but I was very impressed at just how much faster the late model 2013 iMac actually is.

I'm "still getting to know" the new computer, but so far, I really like it. The screen is - without a doubt - less reflective than the 2009 iMac.  It's still reflective though, just much less so.
