Does metering on X bodies need attention

This post was inspired by some deeply dissatisfactory results from a wander with my X-E2 on Monday. I've noticed it before with my X-E1 and X-pro1 though.

Basically, it's not that results are wildly off, but rather that sometimes results are off by enough to require tidying in post that leaves a flat image. When I compare the results to those I've had from my Nikons or even my Oly cameras, I think this is an area Fuji could improve on.

To expand, sometimes multi seems too cautious and spot is limited by being the frame centre. Average seems all over the place in terms of results.

This isn't intended to bash Fuji, if I need to I can always use my iPhone as a light meter, and to be frank most of the time its OK - but I would love to see improvement in future bodies.

Do others agree?
