Hoping someone may have discovered an easy remedy to remove the white specs on an old photograph.

The specs are missing pixels. I am not sure if this is created during the scanning process. I am using an HP Office Jet all in one scanner set at 300 dpi.

I am using CS 6 along with Topaz DeNoise and this does a nice job in cleaning up the image noise.

The current tolls I am using to fill in the specs are the healing brush and the smudge tool. Appreciate if there may be an easier way to fill in the spaces.

TIA
