Canons sensor dilemma, all must be controlled in house
3 months ago

No signs of anything new in Canonland

1.Canon have no high resolution camera. People are starting to use A7R att Canon lenses

2.There are no signs of investments in new sensor lines.

3.My belives is that Canon have to decide quickly, be around with old tech is not a good idea, all from compact cameras (if they don't buy Sonys sensor which they are back to  )  to SLR cameras.   Why decide that all must be done in the house regarding their  SLR cameras  ? . Why not shut down the entire sensor department and walking over to Sony, Pansonic, Samsung, which have the know how and modern sensor lines waiting.

4.- So when can we  se any investments from Canon side in ASLM steppers etc etc etc , on top of that - it takes years to make a line  work -  to what internal costs?

5.Dont be surprised if you have a modern  Sony sensor in your next Canon SLR  or  from  Toshiba, Samsung.
