2014 Supercross Round 1 at Anaheim - E-M1 + 150mm f/2

Last Saturday was the opening round of the 2014 AMA Supercross season at Anaheim, CA. This was my first time using the E-M1 + 150mm f/2 under stadium lights. Even though the stadium appears to be well lit to the casual observer, it is not uncommon for the lighting to be 6-8 EV below daylight.

I took about 750 shots with the E-M1 + 150mm. Most of the shots were taken using the large single AF point and C-AF. I experimented with sutter speeds of 640-1000. All shots were taken from ordinary seating in the stands.

My AF keeper rate ran about 90%. Not as good as I have seen in outdoor daylight, but still respectable. I am still learning what yields the best AF under these difficult conditions. Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of the E-M1 + 150mm f/2.

My E-5 sat in the backpack all night - unused.
