Canon's latest - but why post here?
I posted this here, rather than on the Canon forum because of the implications. If Canon is content with that odd collection, it sends a message to other manufacturers. A message that is not condusive to better stuff for the serious folks here. Panasonic has nothing to respond to.
The FZ200 successor has not been announced, but the FZ70 is clealry a response to Canon's SX50HS. The LF1 is an answer to Canon's S series, and a pretty good one; but even there, Panasonic saw fit to leave off the Picture Adjust menu item. In Canon's new N100, it uses the S120 sensor, processor and lens; but they left off the PASM modes. That's a trend I really don't want to see reinforced.
