Sony 16-50 F/2.8 is the best lens for any Sony APS-C sensor.

I can't agree with that.

May be the best is not in my knowledge. What is the best lens in your knowledge for kit lens replacement?

There is no such thing as best as no single lens can do it all. What is best for one person's uses may fall short for another. For example I find the 16-50 range too narrow for a walk around kit so I bought a Sigma 17-70 which suited me better. For indoor available light f 2.8 is a bit slow so I prefer the 35 f1.8. For sports I need a longer telephoto so I use a 70-300. That lens is a bit slow for some indoor sports venues so I am considering buying a 70-200 f2.8. If pure IQ is your goal there are a number of primes that will best the 16-50.

Yeah, there is nothing like perfect camera/lens. I knew about Sigma 17-70 but didn't mention it because its aperture falls very quickly to f/3.5 at 23mm only, so this way I think 18-135 provides a better range than Sigma 17-70.

Now I think Tamron/Song 17-50 with Sony/Tamron 70-300 is an option I would prefer, for missing range Sony 55-300 isn't bad also.
