The low light discussion is distorted.

If the light really is so low that you need F1.8, the picture will almost never be beautiful with a low handheld shutter speed. (on A65)

The low F most of the time is for the bokeh in a good light with a short shutter speed.

The argument about the tele Minolta, these are fantastic lenses BUT often older then 20 years, the biggest setback with these lenses is the severe CA, something you won't have with a modern lens like the 18-135MM and the color of this lens is very nice also.
