Moving up from 550d to 6d - is it worth it ?
Jan 2, 2014

I had sold my 550d, and I am thinking about buying a 6d + 24-105 kit (or a 70d, if i will stay with aps-c). I had used APS-C Canon bodies since 2005.

After reading lots of topics about smaller sensor (aps-c, 4/3, 1 inch) vs full frame, it is still not clear if it is a good idea to me changing from aps-c to ff.

Especially this topic is quite interesting ( where a Oly 4/3 owner bought a 6d, waited for the "full frame magic", but there was no major increase in in IQ, in sunny / overcast weather.

I would like to know your opinion, if I am

- not interested in shallow dof photography (on aps-c I use f/10 or f/11)

- not interested in low light photography

- not interested in the gadget stuff of 6d (Wifi, etc)

- and the APS-C or 4/3 vs FF differences can be seen if you are looking for problems (bad jpg compression, bit lower resolution, DR, etc), what regular (non photographer peopel) can't see

- but I want the maximum image quality as possible (so 4/3 or compact sensors are not for me)

then is there any advantage if I move from APS-C to FF ? Will I see any full frame magic ? Will my pictures show that I am using a 2000 usd kit  (colors, tonality, DR, missing cromatic abberation, etc), and not a 500 usd 550d+18-55 IS ?

Please don't misunderstand me, I am not bashing FF, I just want to find out if is it a good idea to move FF, if I don't care all the advantages of FF, except the marginal IQ increase.
