Should Fuji license Sigma's Foveon sensor for future camera models?
Jan 2, 2014

Rather than continuing to evolve the Fuji X series of cameras in baby steps, I had a thought for a "game changer" that would allow Fuji to produce the best consumer cameras available, and transform their imaging division business:

License the "46 MP" Foveon APS-C sensor found in the Sigma DPx Merrill series of cameras.

The Sigma DPx Merrill camera bodies and processors are real dogs but have outstanding sensors and image quality. The Fuji X series have outstanding handling characteristics and a line up of interchangeable lenses, but have average sensors. A marriage of the Sigma sensor and the Fuji X body and lenses would knock the socks off the competition - including full frame.

Maybe this has been discussed here before, but if it hasn't, just a thought.
