100mm 2.8 L IS: Is this rattle normal?

I just noticed my 100 2.8 IS Macro rattles a little. At one point when I took it off the camera when looking in the rear I could see one of the glass elements shaking. I can't see it doing that again now, but if I hold the lens near my ear and gently shake it, I hear a small rattle. I assume it is the IS element moving. When on the camera with IS enabled, I hear the faint buzzing.

.... Ok, update: Now I see that if I have the lens on the camera with IS enabled and actively engaged, them immediately remove the lens from the camera, there is an element visible in the rear of the lens that wobbles around easily and a lot. And the lens has a loud rattle.

Is this normal?

Is it perhaps because the IS hadn't stopped and locked it's element in place before I took the lens off the camera?

Can someone with the same lens please check if this is normal?

Thank you.
