Photography in the snow, need a bit of help here.

We never get much snow in Western Australia, so any tips will go down well.

Yes, I know I should be asking this question on different forum but I like to keep things simple.

""not meaning to imply that you guys are simple, just more down to earth.""

Going to Japan for three weeks and will be spending most of our time on the west coast, in the snow.

Problem one. I wont have a laptop so I wont be able to load and look each day, everything will stay on cards till I get home.

So, do I go to M for mode, switch on beach/snow and hope for the best or play around with settings and hope for the best. Or a bit of both.

I have a Nikon D 7000 and will have a 18 to 200mm lens
