Choosing a portrait lens

I have a 6d, a 24-105 kit lens, and a 30l 1.4. I like to take natural light portraits indoors. The 35 works great for group shots and full body shots. I don't like moving in really close to take head and shoulder shots. I am considering an 85 1.8 or a 135 2.0. I would really like the 135 but I am nervous about using such a long lens inside a normal size house. I tried shooting at the long end of the 24-105 and that works fine interms of FOV, but it is too slow to catch moving children most of the time. I am wondering if anyone has used the 135 for shooting head/head and shoulder portraits inside a normal house and if you felt restricted  at that focal length. I am sure the lens is great outdoors. I would really like to hear about your experiences. Jim
