Re: because Traditional PDAF lens don't work well on CDAF Mirrorless Camera
In reply to 007peter, Dec 25, 2013

No, its has to do with how a lens is made in the 1st place. The Sigma you quoted 24, 50, 85 are all traditional PDAF lens. PDAF lens AF very poorly on CDAF mirrorless camera.

That's sad, many folks in here would love to use them in manual

Ergo, all NEX/M43 mirrorless camera required a different design, the lens itself must be CDAF optimized for decent AF speed. That is why there is also no Sigma 30/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.4 for neither M43 nor NEX.

But Sigma has 3 CDAF optics in its part bin from making Sigma DP camera (19mm, 30mm, and 50mm). Sigma simply release them in indpendent lens as DN 19mm, DN 30mm, and DN 60mm.

The good news is that Sigma is rumor to join m43 in 2014 with a Fevon M43 sized sensor. If so, expect Sigma to debut its camera with a series of CDAF lens, and many of these will likely cross over to NEX as well.

We very hope so !

Thanks for those info
