Gap between APS and FF

The cheapest APS-C camera is currently, I believe, Sony's NEX 3F for around 325€, while the cheapest FF camera is well over 1000. If you look at sensor size, however, FF is not that much bigger, so I wonder what explains this gap. I understand that FF is more expensive to produce and remember that there was a similar gap between compact cameras and APS cameras and that with the NEX & m43 mirror less cameras the market has been leveled in that regard. So it is just production and demand, technology, or what is the main hurdle for FF cameras to become cheaper?
