I fell on my D300/16-85 VR while hiking in Arizona. Camera survived, lens didn't. Maunal focus ring would not move, VR no longer functioned, didn't damage the lens. Sent off to Nikon repair, actually received an email today stating receipt of the lens and another giving me an incident # and a service order # and the estimate for repair. Amazing. I don't know how many of you have had to deal with their repair service in the past, but this is unusual. So glad they have implemented a real customer service notification structure within their repair facility. Way to go Nikon.
