Stepping "Down" From 7D to 70D

I'm strongly considering stepping down from the 7D to the 70D. For all intents and purposes, it seems they are capable of producing just as good images, but as a travel photographer ultimately, losing a little weight is never bad. Additionally, a huge reason for this is the articulated screen. I had one on my first camera and really miss it. For awkward angles and manual focusing, I'd love to have this feature again.

Looking for feedback on differences between the two, and if anyone has made the same move. I don't work in extreme environments, shoot sports, or wildlife. My work is city/landscape, studio, and portraiture (including environmental). Thanks!
