Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC

I recently moved to Nikon (D600) system and I bought this lens on an impulse buy when it was on sale on Amazon for $1000.

I never understood what was the fuss all about 70-200mm, heavy and massive, especially after actually seeing and handling it person. Coming from Pentax APS-C system where my heaviest lens was 700g. Not to mention it is the most expensive lens out of my whole arsenal.

Buyer's remorse start to creep in.

Is this lens would be left home 99% of the time due to its size/weight ? Is it worth the cost ? The doubts start to pile in.

I was really close to returning the lens, and replacing it with 90mm Macro to complement my 24-70mm.

Well after I actually used this lens on a portrait session the 70-200 FL makes so much sense on full frame. The range is so versatile for portrait session on a full frame body.

Not to mention it's SHARP! Render bokeh beautifully

100% crop:

After the session and seeing the result it makes it really hard to make the decision whether to return this or not
