The Samyang or ProOptic or Rokinon or Vivitar 500mm f/6.3 lens is significantly wider and heavier (1.5 pounds) than the 300mm f/6.3, and the 500mm is T mount, not native 4/3 mount.  So it would need a T to micro 4/3 adapter.  Right now those lenses are available under $150, in fact I saw $136.  So even with the T to micro 4/3 adapter that is a very inexpensive solution - for someone who wants 1000mm equivalvent angle of view.  Personally, I think even on a tripod it would be very hard to have no wind, no shake at all, to keep a 1000mm equivalent focal length from showing blur.

I have the 45-200mm zoom, (400 equivalent), I think the cute little 300mm f/6.3 with micro 4/3 mount is what I wanted as my first - possibly only ever - mirror lens.
