Depends. Do you need the 18mm wide (27mm wide)? Generally speaking 24mm (36mm) is barely wide angle. Both lenses have excellent resolution. Both have VR. I suspect the 24-120 is a little sharper - and it has a constant f4. I also believe it is a little heavier. Your call.
