Since I own and use both the Fujifilm X-E2 and Canon 5D MKIII, I have been thinking of writing a review comparing the two systems. However, having read your thorough review, about the only thing I would add, is that there is no option for hi speed sync with the flash. I can manage off camera flash, but not having hi speed sync is not good when I want to use fill flash in conjunction with the 56 mm f1.2 which I am lusting for.

You could try the technique where you place the flash in manual full power (longest flash duration). Then set the camera shutter at a high speed 1/2000 or faster. The flash at full power should stay lit for the duration the shutter takes to go from the top of the sensor to the bottom (~1/200 second).

This is a manual operation, but can result in shallow DOF while using fill flash.
