Do away with: "Equivalent focal length on a 35mm or FF camera"?

Lately, I've been using a "tilde" ~ to indicate that a lens focal length is an equivalent focal length. Such as "My bridge camera will zoom to ~432mm".

The worst that could happen is that it could be interpreted as "approximately", but most would understand.

Any thoughts on this becoming a convention?
