Re: Best way to compare two 50mm lenses?

Some of those Sears lenses are very fine lenses, don't underestimate them because of the name. Back in the day, Sears had major buying clout and just rebranded famous name lenses with their own.

The way to compare them is to shoot the same scenes with each lense set on the same aperture and shutter speed.  Do a macro scene, a portrait scene, and a landscape scene at F2, F5.6, F11, etc. and examine them for their background bokeh, center sharpness, corner sharpness and, of course, overall look and colors.
