Panasonic have with the gx7 a very different approach in both jpeg and raw, applying much less sharpening and contrast.

Camera labs conclusion is that if you manipulate the raw, they can perform very similar.

It is interesting to also look at the Fuji x-trans (x-e1) in comparison to their budget camera (X-A1). On the budget camera they apply much more contrast and sharpening, so the immediate feeling is that it has the better sensor. It gets more "pop" so that beginners are more satisfied.

Previously m43 has gotten some critique that their pictures looks to digital, maybe this is a strategy to get them more analog looking (they do look more analog).

If this is the cause to DXO strange results, I am not sure, it could be. After using the GX7 now, it definitely has the best IQ of any Panasonic camera. DXO should probably review their testing routines. Also the number of perceived MPX does not tell the full story of IQ.
