If I delete the files from Lightroom then I can handle them the way I do with Photoshop ACR - move them the way I want without corrupting the Ligthroom catalog. Lightroom will also only have the images I am currently adjusting. I don't want or need the database capabilities, so I don't want to live with the restrictions required to make it work. I think Adobe should add a folder capability to Lightroom that allows you to work like Bridge and ACR in Photoshop - this would not prevent you from using the current capability if you desired.

Lightroom can use folders. I have the folders my photos are in on my disk showing in Lightroom just fine. By default it won't show the whole tree. Lightroom will happily use any organisation structure you wish. It does not impose one night you.
