Unless they're re-thought the move to mirrorless A-mount, then the A7 proves that non-SLT, on-sensor PDAF speeds are not ready to replace SLT's AF performance.

People will accept the "damning with faint praise" of the A7/A7r's AF speed being "faster than the NEX-7"... but A-mount fans would blow a gasket if the A77/A99 "replacements" are mirrorless - and have the same AF performance as the on-sensor PDAF of the A7.

I can just see the reviews: Not as quick to lock-on as the A99, but its faster than the A7...
