I use a GX7 rather than a G6 but they both have an important limitation for astrophotography in that their longest shutter setting is 60 seconds and in Bulb mode they can only go to 2 minutes, which means that you will need a large number of images for stacking. Otherwise, preliminary indications are that it is OK for that application, and the tilt viewfinder of the GX7 is particularly handy.
