Pentax K-3, but is it really sharp?
Nov 29, 2013

So I had a chance to go out and do some testing yesterday and made some quick 16x24 test prints.

And to cut right to the conclusion: The K-3 is FF quality for landscapes. IF your technique and your glass are up to it. I'm getting Canon 5DIII quality image quality, maybe better, in 16x24 inch prints.

I made a 15 minute video of me blathering on about it on my You tube channel if you care know all the details of what I'm talking about...

If not, let me just say that if your not getting sharp images from your K-3 it's your technique, your glass or you got a broken one.

I also think the K-3 default sharpening is VERY CONSERVATIVE and if I were shooting jpegs I'd be experimenting with boosting the default sharpening.

Hope this helps!
