Df question/justification

I've been a long time Nikon dslr user (d70, d200, d300, d700) but for the life of me I just don't get the purpose of all those dials on top of the Df, what benefits/advantages can they bring you out in the field vs what a conventional dslr can offer? Most of my shooting is in M-mode with auto-iso on and I just spin the front and rear control dials and quickly set the shot up the way I want, keeping my eye on the exposure bar all the time. I'm worried that if I buy the Df I'm probably never going to end up using those dials and then looking at them every time I pick up the camera would just annoy the heck out of me! Does anyone feel like myself? I really wish they could have used that D4 sensor in a better fashion
