28 f1.8 as standard lens on DX?

I use my Voigtlander 28 f/2.8 pancake as a normal (42mm) on DX. Manual focus only. On FX it is softer past about the 2/3 center of the frame, but on DX, those softer edges and corners are mostly cropped away.

For an autofocus lens on DX, I think the Sigma 30 f/1.4 is tops (about 45mm). There are two versions, both of which are good. The new "Art" version is better by all accounts. Sigma has improved their QA by a noticeable amount in the last two years. The Sigma 30 f/1.4 is what I would get if I wanted a fast autofocusing normal on DX.

The Nikon 28 f/1.8 AFS G is a good lens, but watch for field curvature.
