Re: HELP EF-M 22mm - strange half blades aperture during focusing
In reply to coso dp, Nov 22, 2013

I made other tests, it seems that IF I power on the camera while pointing at a hard light it will start with closed blades. I don't know, maybe to protect the sensor, or it thinks it's daylight and it is for a better focusing. But it will keep this "dynamic aperture" state based on ambient light since then. Instead If I switch it on with the lens cap on, or in poor light, it will keep the blades wide open, until I point it to a very strong light source (but stronger than before). It does the same with the EF-M 18-55 STM.

It is strange that this behavior depends on the ambient light *at the moment of the power on of the camera*. So in the same ambient light condition, it will have wide open or half open blades based on when I switched it on.

Does this makes sense?
