Nikon D800 and Sigma 35mm 1.4

Pleased with optics of the new lens.

Here's a few shots of the combo. Taken from 1.6 to 11. Shot hand held.

At 1.6, detailed enough. At 11, perfect edge to edge. Bokeh is a little rough. But, lot less loco aberration than Nikon 50 1.4.

The downside is the uncertain AF in low contrast. Fine tuned on a tripod as zero adjustment. But, in the field, it varied from zero to +2.

IMO, the internal motor of the lens is not sufficient for the heavy glass. Even test shots (tripod mounted) using CDAF Live View were less than perfect.

Will update if I have any further insights.

Bottom Line: Recommended, with one caveat about the AF.
