$2,500 to spend

I took up DSLR photography about a year ago before my son was born. I have a pretty decent start set:

  • Canon t4i
  • EF 50mm f/1.4
  • EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
  • EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
  • EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II
  • Speedlite 430EX II

I've got about $2,500 to spend (I really enjoy family photraphy (portraits, holidays, group photos) and really shallow DOF shots).

Currently under consideration are the following, but I'm open to any other thoughts are suggestions. I love to tinker more than anything:

Option 1 - Go Full Frame

  • Canon 6D ($1900)
  • EF 85mm f/1.8 ($335) or EF 100mm f/2 ($450) or EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM ($500)

Option 2- Sell t4i and 17-55 get nicer crop with L multi purpose zoom (gives me another $500-$100 or so to spend)

  • Canon 70D ($1100)
  • EF 24-70mm f/2.8L ($2300)

I don't want to sell the t4i and go full-frame becuse I like the crop for vacations, but I'm really looking to improve my portraits, family shots, event photography skills.

Thanks in advance!!
