Mirrorless: yes - new mount: not sure

My mom has been wanting a camera with a viewfinder since hers died a few months ago, so when the Panny G5 kit was deal of the day on Amazon the other day, she snapped one up. I have to say, the camera is a beast. The viewfinder is fast, bright, large, and sharp. The touch screen simplifies the viewing process and makes navigating menus much easier. If it weren't for their (what I consider) atrocious lens lineup, I would be interested in the system.

The thing about it is, yes it is a small camera, but not so much with a zoom or long lens. The K-01 proved that we don't need a new mount to go mirrorless. Given a good EVF and the AF update from the get go, I don't think anyone would have been laughing at it; even with the oddball styling. The only disadvantage is the lack of reduced registration distance. Maybe they will add an axis to SR and make the sensor come forward to the new lenses

Then you'd have a built in extension tube as well!
