I'm debating buying a D800 but the DF looks good to me. I like using my old F4 over my F5 because of the F4's dials, so maybe the DF is for me. A lot to think about.

Hi Puttin,

The D800 is a typical need camera. Do you need huge images and/or broadcasting quality video on a regular basis? If not, the Df will give you all you need for a long time to come.

This is besides the wonderful option to operate the camera partly mechanically/manually.

Never do video but 36mp might come in handy. 16mp would be enough most times I think. Need to wait on DF reviews. I like my D7100 big files for cropping if needed, so.

Hi Puttin,

36 might be handy if you often need huge images, are a bad framer or often taking images at very high ISO values.

When downsampling a D800 image to that of a D3S till 12800 image quality is almost identical.
