70-200 F4 IS is ultra sharp corner to corner and is super light for a 70-200 lens. The Tamron will be about twice the weight. Maybe a little sharped in the center at some focal lengths, but the extreme corners kind of fall apart, where the Canon just keeps on rocking it.

Tamron is a great f2.8 lens for the price though!

Tamron also has much better flare resistance than the Canon.
