Physical rear lens limitations for Voigtlander L/R cameras
9 months ago

Leica M39 screw mount (LTM) Voigtlander Bessa L and R cameras have a flange distance to the second (white) shutter curtain of about 20mm (for Bessa-L, I'm not sure about the R model). Any lens with a rear element extending that far will either damage the second shutter curtain or block the light to the TTL light sensor. One such case is the Jupiter-12 35mm f/2.8 lens. Do you know which wide angle lenses (up to 35mm but preferably less than or equal to 28mm) are safe to use in this respect?

Of course, all modern (past-1999) Voigtlander lenses are compatible as well as, generally, lenses with obvious low rear profile but specific -tried-out- cases would be interesting to be mentioned together with their field performance...
