I shoot Sony, the only camera maker with SLT and one of the few with EVF. Then there is Pentax, one of the few SLR's with in body stabilization. On the smaller side you have Fuji, probably the best mirror less camera out there. Olympus and Panasonic are pushing the boundaries of what can be done with a small sensor.

Canon and Nikon are just boring compared to Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic, and Fuji. I don't understand why Canon and Nikon dominate with their lack of innovation.

I think you are the same guy who sees a Toyota Camry and says "damn, that think is just boring, how could that be the best selling car in America", never realizing that the damn thing gets someone to work and home every day for years on end with no complaints, is economical and gets good gas millage.  Toyota has that reputation.  Yes, the competition is getting better and is probably as good, but the damage is already done, Toyota has the reputation.

Same thing with Canikon.  The competition is doing its best to innovate and make a "better mousetrap", some successful, some not.  But it is hard to beat the old proven formula for an slr/dslr.  It is time tested and proven reliable, and optically excellent.
