Yep, I remember picking up a CANON RT in 1989. That pellicle mirror system (aka STL) was pretty cool 24 years ago

I owned an EOS RT and later an EOS-1NRS. Both were unique for 35mm film bodies at the time - the shutter lag was very short - about the same and for a rangefinder. I liked mine. Neither sold in great quantities, and both cost more than equivalent SLRs.

To the OP: "innovation" may be "cool", but any EF lens that would work on the EOS RT and EOS 1NRS will still work on any current DSLR - I'm still using my 300mm/f4 from that time.
