What do we think of the lack of image stabilization on the new Sony Cameras?

I read (probably on SonyAlphaRumors.com) that Sony was considering on adding the Olympus state of the art 3-D stabilization technology to its future NEX cameras. They didn't make it to the full frames nor the RX10. I worry about getting any of the new cameras due to the missing benefit of IS. I know that it can be provided by lenses but that negates the benefits of having it in camera and also seems weaker than what I've read about the Olympus system. Does anyone have any guesses on why they chose not to add IS (or is it only size/weight considerations)? And will they create an Alpha camera with these new sensors that DOES have IS (in which case I would wait for them to come out)?
